New Teachers

In September we had two new teachers join our school- Miss Robinson and Miss Dowling.
This is what Miss Robinson told us about herself. Miss Robinson has lots of interesting hobbies such as skiing, walking and gardening. She is very active. Miss Robinson wants to be a very good teacher and Trinity is her first school. However, she did not always want to be a teacher. When she was younger her dream was to be a pilot! But while we're talking about Miss Robinson there's also another new teacher, Miss Dowling.Miss Dowling is a lovely and fun teacher who likes doing a lot of fun things like swimming, history, travelling and watching films.

Miss Addis - Mrs Smith's student teacher.

Miss Addis is one of Mrs Smiths student teachers and I thought you might like to to find out about some of the things she said in the interview. Miss Addis likes being at Trinity. She has been here for four weeks as part of her course at Oxford Brookes University.  She has always wanted to work with children and really likes it. Her mum was a primary teacher and she was the person that inspired Miss Addis to be a teacher.She was scared about teaching  maths but she actually really enjoyed it in the end. She went to 3 different primary schools herself but only 1 secondary school. Miss Addis has  been playing a instrument since she was 7 when she learned the piano.When she was older she started playing the cello but she now plays the double base which I am sure is very fun. Before Miss Addis became a student teacher she freelanced for different orchestras on the double base.She was a music teacher in schools and has also had 8 cats in her life.

Goodbye Mrs Aldrige!

 We interviewed Mrs Aldrige before she left our school and she said she would miss the school the children and all the teachers. "It's been fun teaching in the school and I've seen lots of teachers, head teachers and pupils come and go. I can't believe that it's my turn now" she said. She also said that it will feel very strange not coming to school in the morning.

One of Mrs Aldriges favourite things is taking the Running Club because it means that she can enjoy running and also have the pleasure of teaching others how to enjoy it to. It's also good to know that she will carry on running as long as she can.

   I'm sure we will all miss her when she's gone.

We Will Miss You Sally!

I'm sad to say that we have waved good bye to Sally our School Cook. Before she went, Olivia & Izzy decided to interview her and here is what she said.

Q:Do you have a job to go to after this school?

 A:Yes I do.

Q: Will you miss this school?

A: I will miss the school very much.

Mr Carter - Our School Vicar

I interviewed Mr Carter the vicar on Monday and I thought you might like to know what he said so here we are. Mr Carter has been a vicar at Holy Trinity Church for 19 years. He has been a governor of the school for most of that time (18 yrs). Duncan (which is his Christian name) knows all the teachers including Miss Dowling and Mrs Robinson the new teachers. He also knows lots of the children (mostly Yr 5). Mr Carter does like doing assemblies especially when children give good answers. So that is some of the things he said and I hope you enjoyed it.

An interview with our school language teacher Mr Tillyer

I interviewed Mr Tillyer about teaching a foreign language. This is what he said. To teach a language it helps if you have lived in that country. It is good fun but the best bit is playing the learning games. Spanish and French are good ones to start with because they are simple.

Learning a foreign  language helps you to develop important skills like listening carefully and speaking clearly. He finds it particularly enjoyable doing P.E in another language, like French cricket. Language learning is important because it gives you the chance to think about peoples lives in different countries.

Farewell to a Great Teacher

Miss Simmonds, our Year 5 Teacher, will be remembered by everyone at Trinity School. This is what she said, " I will miss everyone at Trinity although I have wanted to work abroad since I was little."  She is moving to the Dominican Repulic in the Caribbean. She will be teaching Year 3. The people there will all speak Spanish, but they will also speak English.

Miss Robinson will take over Miss Simmonds' job and we will be looking forward to meeting her soon. We will all miss Miss Simmonds and we hope she has a great time. All the best wishes and lots of love from Trinity. xx

Interview with our School-Site Supervisor Mr Robinson

We've just interviewed Mr Robinson the caretaker of Trinity, and this is what he said:

What do you do for your job?

I'm the school site supervisor.

What do you do for our school?

A lot, I make sure the school is safe, the grass is cut, get builders and carpenters in if I need to, put out the Infant's fruit, make sure everything is right and if I don't have time to do something i get my 4 other cleaners to help.

When do you work?

Well I start at 6:45am and them I go home at 9:30am, come back 1:30

then go home at 6:15.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy it all but mostly improving things.

What do you like least about this school?

Somtimes I have to unblock the toilets!

What training do have to do to get your job?

You have to train on : safely handling chemicals, lifting things correctly, best way to look after a school and risk assessment.

Have you always worked in a school?

No, I used to manage HOPS (a summer club at Trinity) and before that I worked in the Royal Mail for 28 years.

What could the children do to make you job easier?

Well litterwise it's pretty good.They could be better at flushing the toilets,orange peel is quite a problem and when walking through the hall if you have muddy shoes they could take them off.
